The Buzzing Newbie in Town – Watson’s

While we all were familiar with Mojos and Terminal as the popular hangouts of Panjim, Watson’s entered the market and created a buzz very quickly. This all day gastro pub is located in the heart of the capital of Goa, Panjim! Open to serve all its patrons from 11 am to 1 am this chic pub is catching up quickly to the trends of Goa.

The place is made with a very rustic décor that divided the pub into two distinct areas, the pub section which consists of high tables, the bar counter, a DJ station and a stair way leading to a small gallery which seats a total of 8 people on two tables (my personal favourite area!). It is from this gallery that you can overview whatever happens in this pub and for the 5 times I have been there I can confidently say that everyone who comes here with the intention of getting themselves seated in the pub section have their eyes on the gallery tables! So I would say call in advance and reserve it for yourself before it is taken already. The other half of the pub is filled with low tables and bright lights, more of a family dining area where one can sit and have a delicious meal and have a conversation with their guests.

Coming to the food, what can I say this place blows your mind with its appetisers itself! Their cheese cigars, chilly chicken, Watsons special wings – with 4 types of flavour options i.e. classic ranch, Manchurian, chilli sweet & sour and lastly, Shezwan sauce, cheese potato chips – topped with a whole lot of cheese, mogos – crispy thin slices of golden fried cassava tossed with chilli, lime and ghee, paneer chilly were some of the independent starters I tasted over the spread of my visits and I loved every one of them! You can also opt for their Confused Watson’s Veg or the Confused Watson’s non-veg platter which comes with four types of starters in it. The tiger prawns that come in the non-veg platters were one of the best I have ever tasted.

If after indulging in their variety of starters you still have room for more why not try their thali! Yes you read right they have thalis too which have delectable assortment of items in it too.

Wash all this down with their English Summer cocktail or any of their many listed cocktails.

So why not drop by with your friends for a drink or family for a delicious dinner at this newbie of the town! I absolutely loved it and will surely visit it again, maybe this Independence Day itself!

Happy Reading!
